KNUDSON-BOSLEY MEMORIAL PARK Located On the Shores of Lake Yankton
Gazebo, picnic shelter equipped with tables and electricity, handicapped-accessible fishing pier, boat ramps, bathrooms, grills sites, camping, swimming, new playground equipment, sheltered picnic tables, and two sand volleyball courts.  
Legion Lions Park - 420 Lake Avenue South
New playground equipment and benches, picnic tables and shelter, new basketball court, pickleball net and equipment, horseshoe court and military memorial.  
Eastbay Campground - 4020 Lake Yankton Avenue
Four campsites with full hookup (water, sewer and electric) are available along the Balaton Bay Golf Course.  To make a reservation, contact the City Office at 507-734-4711 or email: balatonmn@gmail.com.    Price:  $20 per night.  
Baseball/Softball Complex - Maple Avenue
City-owned and used for summer recreation ballgames, and men and women's softball leagues.  Bleachers and two ball diamonds are available.  Water fountain and concession stand.
Frisbee Golf Course - Maple Avenue
The Balaton Area Community Foundation has constructed a new Frisbee Golf Course in the area surrounding the softball complex and former football field on the west edge of Balaton.  The course is available during spring, summer and fall months for Balaton area residents and visitors in the area.
BALATON BAY GOLF COURSE, LLC - 1000 Lake Yankton Avenue
The most challenging Par 3 Executive Course in Southwest Minnesota!  Full Service Club House offering a wide variety of merchandise, snacks and beverages.  Take out meals are also available for delivery from a local favorite.  Hours:  Monday through Friday 9 am - 9 pm.  Saturday and Sunday 7 am - 9 pm.  For more information check out their Facebook page:  Balaton Bay Golf Course


Balaton Area Community Foundation (BACF)
Balaton Area Community Foundation (BACF) is dedicated to making Balaton a growing and healthy community by providing opportunities for everyone to impact the present and invest in the future. Organized under the umbrella of Southwest Initiative Foundation, BACF is a vehicle for making charitable contributions for the benefit of the community through a permanent endowment fund that provides long-term dollars and various funds dedicated to current needs. As of June of 2024, BACF has granted more than $200,000 dollars to various local charitable organizations and the City of Balaton.

A local advisory board provides oversight and directs how funds will be used for the exclusive benefit of the Balaton area. While subject to change, current advisory board members include: Jayme “Fester” Chandler, Denise Crumrine, Brita Fricke, Ann Gifford, Jared Hively,Tara Onken, Carmen Rosen, Mary Timmerman, Mike Wall, Marcia Wee and Theresa Zaske.
