BALATON FUN FEST
Balaton Fun Fest is celebrated each year the 4th of July weekend! Activities include Fireworks, Triathalon, Entertainment, Street Dance, Parade and Volleyball, Basketball and Golf tournaments. Complete information is available at www.balatonfunfest.com
LAKES 4-H CLUB: The club has a community pride project at Currant Lake Park. Club members exhibit their projects at the Murray County Fair andthe Minnesota State Fair. The Lakers go on fun field trips, plus have awesome fair exhibit.
BALATON LIONS CLUB: The Lions Club raise money to help people with vision problems, and collect glasses. They also provide funds for training Seeing Eye Dogs.
SHOTOKAN KARATE CLUB: Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday at the Ralco Nutrition Gymnasium. Tournaments and additional training events are also held. More info contact Chief instructor Jerry Lupkes at 507-734-6915
PARK COMMISSION: Meet once per month. Their goal is to improve all Balaton Area Parks including Eastbay 9 Golf Course.
BOOK WORMS CLUB: The Balaton Book Worms meet once per month. They select a book for members to read and discuss the books during their meeting times.
BALATON SPORTSMEN'S CLUB: The Sportsmen's Club's mission is to promote, execute and assist in all matters related to hunting and fishing as wells as the conservation and restoration of our natural resources. The Club is responsible for several projects during the year: Highway 14 Ditch Cleanup, Annual Game Feed, Spink Lake Food Plot , Lake Yankton Fishing Tournament, Take a Kid Fishing at Lake Yankton, Gun Training, Fall Fun NIght and the installation and removal of oxygen aerators on 4 local lakes.
BALATON AMERICAN LEGION: The Legion & Auxiliary meet once per month. Activities scheduled throughout theyear include: Girls' State/Boys' State. On To College Tea, Spring party at the Colonial Manor, Military Memorial, scholarships, Fun Fest Work and Honor Guards for funeral services. The Legion also sponsors bingo every other week
